Stagnone - Sicilia - Italia
This place was quite a surprise, a new find.
I've been wandering these parts of Sicilia for about four years, I've been living here for one year and, surprisingly, now and then I end up finding something I've never seen.
Yesterday afternoon I decided to get the car and go on a photo hunt, despite of the odd time of the day. There was some awesome clouds and I thought it may be worth it.
So I headed to the vicinities of Mothia, a region I had placemarked on Google Earth for as a possible "hunt zone".
During the afternoon I found some interesting places, took a lot of photos, but I wasn't really satisfied. And as the sunset was approaching I was growing a bit restless to find a good spot. That's when I decided to hit the little unmarked roads. After some dead ends and with just 20 minutes to sunset I found this spot! Jackpot!

Before going home, I checked the GPS to see exactly where I was so I could discover what was it...
This is the "San Teodoro Tower". One of the 150 watch towers built by the Viceroy of Sicilia in 1584, to alert neighbouring towers and towns impending attacks of Turkish barbarian incursions by flashing mirrors, and at night, via fireworks.
